Forest City Gear Announces Death Of Chairman Fred Young

It is with great sadness that Forest City Gear announced the death of Fred Young, Chairman and former President. Fred passed away July 17, 2023, peacefully, with his family at his side. Fred served as the second generation of Young leadership along with his wife, Wendy, for more than 50 years. The Young family & greater Forest City Gear family are grateful for the support of the industry and the community during this time.

Services will be held Sunday, July 23 at Grace Funeral & Cremation Services, 4301 N. Main St. in Rockford, IL. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 3 p.m.
